The Mounted Patrol was instituted in 1925, is a charter member of the International Shrine Horse Patrol and appears not only in parades, but also on occasion, at Northeastern Shrine Association Conventions. In days gone by the unit rode all Palominos and wore the traditional “English riding” uniform. In the parades the Mounted Horse Patrol is the Potentate’s escort.
